RBAC vs ABAC Fit Assessment
A focused 60-minute session working through whether your access model actually reflects how your organisation operates: a scoped, paid way in when you have a specific problem, not an open-ended conversation.
What this actually is
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) grants access based on a user's role: predictable and auditable, and the right default for most of the workforce. Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) grants access dynamically, evaluating attributes of the user, resource, and context: more flexible, but harder to govern if it isn't done properly. Most organisations have picked one by accident rather than design, or bolted rules onto a role model that was never built to carry them.
This is a single, focused 60-minute call. You bring what you have (a role list, entitlement catalogue, or just a description of how access decisions actually get made today) and we work through whether your current model fits, where it's straining, and what a governed hybrid would realistically look like for your organisation. Booked directly, no proposal process first.
What's included
- A 60-minute session, one-to-one with a specialist consultant, not a first-line call handler
- A working review of your current access model against how your business actually operates, not a platform's default assumptions
- A clear read on where role-based birthright access is the right fit, and where attribute-driven exceptions genuinely earn their complexity
- Straight talk on whether this is a role-cleanup problem, a policy-governance problem, or a genuine model redesign
What this isn't
- Not free: this is a paid session, not the self-serve Health Check
- Not an automated scan of your platform: it's a conversation, built on what you already know about your own roles and processes
- Not a substitute for a full role-mining and role-design engagement: that's real delivery work; this is one hour of expert judgment on where you stand
Who this is for
Teams who suspect their access model doesn't really fit the business any more (role sprawl, ad hoc exceptions piling up, or a platform migration forcing the question) and want a specialist's read on it quickly, without first scoping a larger engagement.
