Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026. Written in plain English rather than legalese — precise about what we do, without the padding.

Who we are

This website is operated by IAM Tech Limited ("IAM Tech", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales, company number 09076102, registered office 112 Morden Road, London SW19 3BP. For the purposes of UK GDPR, IAM Tech Limited is the data controller for the personal data described below. Any question about this policy can go to contact@iam-tech.co.uk.

What data we collect, and how

We've kept this site deliberately light on data collection. Here's every point where personal data touches this website:

  • Contact form. The form on our Contact page submits directly to us via Netlify Forms — the name, email, company, and message you enter are sent straight to our inbox, with no email client required on your end. A hidden spam-trap field is used to filter out automated submissions before they ever reach us.
  • Booking a call. The scheduling widget on our Contact page is provided by Cal.com, a third-party booking service. It doesn't load automatically — nothing is requested from Cal.com, and no cookies are set, until you click "Load booking calendar." If you go on to select a time, your name, email address, chosen slot, and any notes you add are shared with Cal.com to confirm the meeting. Cal.com processes that data under its own privacy policy, which we'd encourage you to review before booking. Our health-check results page links out to Cal.com directly instead of embedding it.
  • Free IAM Health Check. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are never transmitted anywhere. If you choose "Email me these results," that opens your own email client with the results pre-filled — we never see anything unless you actually send that email.
  • Website analytics. We use privacy-preserving, cookie-free analytics provided by our hosting platform (Netlify) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and roughly how many people visit — without tracking individuals or setting cookies.
  • Standard server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp) for security and reliability purposes. This is standard infrastructure logging, not something we actively review or use to identify individuals.

Why we process it, and on what basis

Where personal data reaches us at all (an email you send, or a call you book), we process it to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, deliver the consulting services you've asked about. Our legal basis is legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, or taking steps at your request prior to a contract, as applicable.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and correspondence data for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry and any resulting engagement, and no longer than is needed for that purpose or to meet a legal obligation (for example, UK tax and accounting record-keeping requirements). Cal.com and Netlify retain data according to their own retention policies, which are outside our direct control.

Who we share data with

We don't sell, rent, or trade personal data. The only third parties involved are the service providers necessary to run this website and the engagements it supports:

  • Cal.com — if you book a call, to schedule and manage that meeting.
  • Netlify — our website hosting provider, which processes standard technical/server log data as part of serving the site, and handles contact form submissions on our behalf via Netlify Forms.
  • Google Fonts — this site loads its typeface directly from Google's font service. Loading a font makes a request from your browser to Google's servers, which may transmit your IP address to Google as part of that request. No cookies are set by this, but it is a data transfer worth knowing about.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA (for example, in the United States). Where that happens, it's under that provider's own safeguards and standard contractual mechanisms for international transfers — we'd encourage you to review Cal.com's and Netlify's own privacy documentation if this matters to you.

Cookies

We don't set any first-party tracking or advertising cookies ourselves, and our own analytics are cookie-free by design. The Cal.com booking widget is the only feature on this site that can set third-party cookies — and it's gated behind a click, so nothing loads and no cookie is set until you actively choose to load the calendar. If you do, Cal.com may set cookies within its own service to support the booking flow, governed by Cal.com's cookie policy, not ours.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability where applicable. Since we collect very little data directly (most of what's described above is handled by third parties, or never leaves your browser at all), most requests will simply mean asking us to delete any correspondence we're holding, or asking Cal.com directly about data held in your booking. To exercise any of these rights with us, email contact@iam-tech.co.uk.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.

Children

This is a business-to-business website intended for professional use. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
